Non Violent Resistance (NVR)

NVR was originally founded to offer a strucured approach to  support parents in overcoming destructive, aggressive, controlling and risk-taking behaviours in children and young people. It is now used as a more general parenting approach that supports parents with self care and tools to manage behaviour.

Children are coming into the world with more complexity which challenges parents to find ever more deeper resources to meet their needs - which in many cases is not straighforward.

In NVR parents develop a variety of different skills, tools and resources to support them in adapting their parenting approach to meet the growing and changing needs of a child or young person - whatever the complexity.  In addition, NVR advocates families to develop a network of supporters - so has its heart in a community of support.
