Systemic Consultation
A professional space to think, reflect and get creative to work on complex issues to enhance decision making, collaborative working and cohesion.
Jane Chase works together with Karen Shitto and Abi Jordan to offer systemic consultancy to professionals and organisations. This is to consider context, approach and intervention from a systemic lens. Our main aim is to construct safe spaces for reflective practice and engage creatively to consider conplex situations, questions and ways forward.
Our combined skills include
- Systemic skills training
- NVR skills training and supervision
- Children’s residential care and supportive living for young people
Systemic consultations are useful for Social Workers, Family Support Workers, Adoption Support workers, therapists and other professionals who need to consider the care of a young person or family where there is multi-agency involvement, stakeholder implications and safeguarding concerns.
We include an appreciative enquiry approach to consultation as a way to get the best from people and use a variety of systemic methods and techniques to deconstruct key themes such as:
- Issues and experiences across family relationships and life cycles
- Understanding mental health needs
- Relationships to and between services
- Considering roles and different domains of practice
- Context and influences on the work
- Patterns across and within professional and family systems
We will help you creatively to:
- promote reflective thinking to explore problems
- identify problems/possibilities/resources/restraints within the system
- feel empowered to intervene from your role, and to mobilise other resources in the system
- recognise and work with difference
- identify the multiple voices in the system
Consultations are charged at an hourly rate and vary depending on the sector.
