Jane Chase Counselling and Psychotherapy

About Me

I am an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor, having worked extensively with adults, couples, children and families over many years. Alongside my independent practice, I have held a range of clinical and leadership roles, including serving as Clinical Lead for a local charity’s, two years as a family therapist in CAMHS, and currently as an internal consultant for an organisation supporting care-experienced young people. I have also worked with families involved in the court system and regularly collaborate with other professionals to provide joined-up support. In 2024, I completed advanced training in Systemic Supervision and Consultancy at the Tavistock and Portman Clinic in London.

Teaching and training are also central to my work. I run courses and a one-year programme for adults on Biographical Counselling Skills. Details here

In addition, I am a faculty member at Emerson College, teaching on their Mental Health Seminar

My professional training includes a three-year Counselling Diploma, a four-year Family Therapy (Systemic Psychotherapy) training and one-year Supervision training. I have worked with Birmingham NHS Trust, providing family therapy, consultancy, and supervision in both outpatient CAMHS and a specialist inpatient eating disorder unit. These experiences have shaped my commitment to a multidisciplinary approach, working alongside professionals, carers, and others involved in treatment to provide holistic support.

I am registered with the UKCP and a member of AFT (Association of Family Therapy), working with their professional codes of ethics. I was previously an accredited member of the BACP (www.bacp.co.uk ). I am on the register of Preferred Providers for Gloucestershire County Council and accept referrals from Social Workers and other professionals in the county.

Ongoing development is vital to me. I attend regular CPD training and I have engaged in my own psychotherapy, counselling and family therapy as a client. I hold a strong commitment to anti-oppressive, child-focused practice that actively challenges all forms of othering.

I hold an up-to-date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate, maintain full Professional Indemnity and Liability Insurance, and am up-to-date with safeguarding training.
